Did you ever wonder about Iselin's Stats?
There are great charts and tables and statistics on a site I found called Sperling's Best Places to Live, which you can find HERE.
Here are some of the numbers; all of this information is directly from that website. For the whole story, check out the Best Places website!

they aren't home much..lol.)

We do very well in a study on America's Best and Worst Cities for Crime. We are listed in the table of "the 100 largest Metropolitan Statistical Areas, as defined by the US Census Bureau. Generally, MSAs are defined as a central city and its county, and possibly surrounding counties, if a significant portion of the area's population commutes between the counties on a regular basis." Our "city" is listed in this table as "Middlesex-Somerset-Hunterdon NJ" - and the great news is that we are Number 2, for being safest!!! We were just behind Nassau - Suffolk, and we beat out Ventura California, Monmouth-Ocean, Bergen-Passaic, Pittsburgh PA, Syracuse NY, and Hartford CT, among many other nice places. (It seems to me that maybe our average is helped quite a bit by being lumped together with Hunterdon County? But it's good, in any case.)
Iselin averages about 43 inches of rain per year.
(The US average is 37. )
Snowfall averages 24 inches;
The average US city gets 25 inches of snow per year.
(I'm surprised about that, because some of those cities are in places like Florida and California.
But I guess they are balanced out by cities like Buffalo!)
The number of days with any
measurable precipitation is 111.
On average, there are 205 sunny
days per year in Iselin.
(That's alot, but I heard somewhere that it's
ALWAYS sunny in Philadelphia! LOL. )
ALWAYS sunny in Philadelphia! LOL. )
The July high is around 86
degrees.
(Really? I'm surprised to read this.
I'm not sure how accurate that is.)
The January low is about 23.
(And I'm not looking forward to THAT at all!)
All in all, I think Iselin is a really great place to live.
