Carteret's Independence Day Festival will be held at Waterfront Park today at 3 p.m. and will include rides, games, shows and vendors. Fireworks will begin at 9. They are expecting limited parking at Waterfront Park, and so they've arranged it so the main lot at Veterans Memorial Fishing Pier is supposed to be handicapped parking only; there will be parking behind the warehouse, along the access road, behind Roosevelt Avenue, and along Industrial Avenue. You need to access these areas directly from Industrial Road. Also, Shuttle Buses have been arranged from Thomas J. Deverin Community Center and Library, Carteret Middle School at Carteret Park, and West Carteret at Minue School. Shuttles will run from 3:00 to 10:30 PM.
Sayreville's Kennedy Park Independence Day Celebration - (Rain Date, July 3rd) - 4:00 PM - free rides, musical entertainment and food available - entertainment at 7:00 pm, Glen Burtnik and Friends "Summer of Love Experience" Music from the Woodstock era.
