Today is April Fools Day, so watch out for jokers and practical jokes -- don't fall for anything!
I remember one year, my oldest son was REALLY into April Fools Day. He went to a lot of trouble to set up a bunch of jokes. His most complicated prank was taking the doorknob off of the bathroom door and turning it around so that the lock was on the outside... and then locking it. The first person in the bathroom, upon just closing the door, would find himself locked into the bathroom and unable to get out. (He was also nice enough to leave a cell phone in the bathroom, so the person could call for a rescue.) My son was just lucky that it wasn't ME he locked in...
According to Wikipedia,
April Fools' Day is celebrated all around the world on the April 1 of every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools' Day, April 1 is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day where many people play all kinds of jokes and foolishness. The day is marked by the commission of good humoured or funny jokes, hoaxes, and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc.
The earliest recorded association between April 1 and foolishness can be found in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (1392).
Wikipedia also has a list of some interesting pranks that have been played in the past. If you want to read about them, go HERE
In other news... April 1st is also the day that Google has introduced some new technology:
