The End of March

My momma used to say that March "comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb." Did you ever hear this expression? What does it really mean? I always thought it meant that the weather in the beginning of the month was harsh, but at the end of the month the weather is soft and warm. Well it's the end of March, and we're waiting to see what the weather will bring. Could it be SNOW? I don't think so, but it isn't unheard of to have snow this late in the year. Yuck. The only way that it's going out like a lamb is that I'm still wearing my fleece!
