Finances in New Jersey

I love to read the email I get from Jaffe Communications every day, called "The Morning Briefing."  I get a lot of interesting information about what's going on around New Jersey, and I love the way they write.... a bit about politics, a bit about current events, a bit about finance.   I got this little tidbit from them this morning.  For more information on Jaffe Communications, go to their website at www.jaffecom.com

STATEWIDE - We keep being told the recession officially ended in mid-2009, yet the latest Census figures show New Jerseyans had less cash in 2010. The average median household income in New Jersey was $67,681. That's down 2.7 percent from the year before and 2.9 percent less than the inflation-adjusted total of $69,674 in 2006. Income dropped in 13 of the state's 21 counties compared with 2009, with Morris and Camden taking the biggest hit. Perhaps, just maybe, the recession is still lingering?
