Cooper Towers in Iselin to be Renovated

This afternoon, Mayor John E. McCormac, representatives of Woodbridge-area construction and trade unions, the Woodbridge Redevelopment Agency, and the Woodbridge Housing Authority, will get together at the Cooper Towers Senior Residence on Oak Tree Road in Iselin to announce a $2 Million Public/Private Partnership Program to renovate the senior housing apartment buildings.

The long-term reconstruction and renovation project, designed to upgrade 415 senior housing units maintained by the Woodbridge Housing Authority , decreases administrative costs (thus allowing more dollars to be invested in actual construction), guarantees employment of professional tradespersons from Woodbridge-area construction and trade unions, and provides new, up-dated housing for Woodbridge senior residents. The $2.25 million project utilizes monies currently on-deposit with the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

I personally like anything that gives people jobs and at the same time maintains property... you never know, I might end up living in the Cooper Towers when I'm old!
