I remember when I was a kid, celebrating Flag Day in school, we would sing "You're a Grand Old Flag," and we'd color in the Stars and Stripes......and when my kids were little, in Cub Scouts, we would have a special ceremony at the T. Nulty Post 471 American Legion, where the gentlemen of the post would teach the Cub Scouts (and anyone else who was interested) all about how you officially retire the colors.
This year, I'll probably just celebrate Flag Day by hanging up my American Flag... as long as it isn't raining.
