It's getting close to the end of the Spring Sports Season, and Kennedy High School sports has a lot to be proud of. Here's a quick summary of the season so far:
-- Boy's Spring Track and Field is 7 - 0, White Division Champs! Tomorrow, they are going to the States, at South Plainfield.
-- Girls Spring Track's record is 3 - 5. You go, girls!
-- Last year's Baseball team was amazing - Group 3 State Champs! A few key players graduated, so it isn't completely the same team; but they are still doing great. As of this afternoon, the team was 17 - 9, and playing in the quarter finals of the State Tournament.
-- Softball, on the other hand, saw more than just a few key players move up; a big chunk of the team graduated, including Coach Cuntala, who retired. This year, the team is 5 - 16. This is what is known as a "rebuilding" year, but they are working hard.
-- Boy's Volleyball, at 9 - 11, is looking forward to next year.
-- Golf is 17 - 13, with a few individuals still moving forward at the GMC's.
-- Boy's Tennis, at 17 - 3, is playing for the GMC White Divisional Title.
Spring Sports awards will be held on June 1st, and I'll report back with more details on the sports season wrap up.
