Two new Eagle Scouts were honored by Boy Scout Troop 31 yesterday evening. Patrick Daniels of Iselin (left) and Michael Wutkowski of Sewaren hold up a banner that has been signed by many of the troop's Eagle Scouts over it's long history.
The rank of Eagle Scout is a great achievement for a Boy Scout. In addition to fulfilling community service requirements, and earning badges covering a myriad of topics, and learning basic skills in areas like first aid, emergency preparedness, citizenship, and various outdoor skills, the Scout has to demonstrate leadership. The lessons he learns throughout his career as a Boy Scout is then demonstrated when he plans, organizes and runs an Eagle Scout Project. There are many complicated steps a young man must take to achieve the goal of becoming an Eagle Scout.
Congratulations to two fine young men!
