Preparing for Plays in the Park

2012 is the 50th Anniversary
of Middlesex County's PLAYS-IN-THE-PARK!
This summer, the shows will be:
MY FAIR LADY
June 20 through June 30
No performance Sunday

DAMN YANKEES
July 11 through July 21
No Sundays

GREASE
August 1 through August 11
No performance Sunday

It takes a lot of talent to put on all those shows.  Do you have what it takes to be a star??? If you think you do, why don't you think about auditioning?

You can get a lot of information,  including information about the characters they need to cast...
from the Plays in the Park website, HERE.
Here are some of the details, just as they appear on the website.  I would definitely head over to the website and do my research before I auditioned, though, if I were you!
"SUMMER 2012 AUDITIONS --
AUDITIONS for all ROLES in “MY FAIR LADY”,” DAMN YANKEES” and “GREASE”

Please note ~
CASTING RULES & REGULATIONS
Before deciding to audition for a summer show at PIP, please carefully read the following:
·       When you attend the open call you are basically auditioning for all three shows.  You may state any show preferences on the audition card if there is a reason you would not be able to accept a role in a given show.
·       Summer show rehearsals are for seven weeks, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and one long Saturday OR Sunday afternoon/evening each week with tech week being even more intense.  If you have conflicts with another show, classes or vacations that would prevent you from making this schedule please do not audition.
·       We can all tolerate a few conflicts if you are honest and upfront about them. We are always suspect of an actor who claims “no conflicts”. Punctuality at rehearsals is equally as important.
·       The process of casting three large shows is a daunting one, and we would be especially appreciative of honesty when it comes to the size of the role you would be comfortable accepting. If you won’t do ensemble or a supporting role, please advise us of that fact at the open calls.
·       It is not enough to merely attend the OPEN CALL – the CALLBACKS during the week and the following weekend ‘s ENSEMBLE CALL is where we make decisions. If you cannot attend the callbacks, please don’t try out this year.
·       PIP casts their shows age appropriate according to the needs of the shows. This season there are no roles for children. Those 16 years of age might audition for the experience, but we really do prefer older performers for MY FAIR LADY and DAMN YANKEES, and GREASE is looking for older teens/early 20’s.
Thank you.
