New Jersey has a fabulous State Park system. Closest to Iselin is probably Cheesequake State Park, with a lake for swimming and fishing, and hiking trails and camping accomodations.
Stokes State Park is a bit more of a drive, but the view from Sunrise Mountain is beautiful.
