Football Season has started!

Here is a photo of the JFK Mustangs Marching Band playing at the football game against Colonia on Saturday. It looks like it was a beautiful day for some football! (Unfortunately, I hear that JFK lost the game, but I guess you can't have everything...)

I'd be glad to publish a picture of the actual football itself, if you want to send me one... It just happens that my friend who took this photo has children in the band, not on the football team!

Flu Vaccine Clinic Scheduled

ATTENTION: Woodbridge Township Residents

Woodbridge Health Department Schedules Flu & Pneumonia

Vaccine Clinic for Sept. 14 & 21 

Woodbridge - Mayor John E. McCormac announced that the Woodbridge Township Department of Health & Human Services has scheduled the first flu and pneumonia vaccine clinics of the 2012 season.  Flu and pneumonia shots will be administered to Woodbridge Township residents on:

·         FRI., SEPT. 14, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to Noon at the Evergreen Center, 400 Inman Avenue, Colonia, and

·         FRI., SEPT., 21, 2011 from 4:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge

Township Health Director Dennis Green said that the flu and pneumonia vaccine shots (standard syringe vaccination) are free to Medicare patients (must present a valid Medicare card).  The flu vaccination is $15.00 and the pneumonia vaccination is $60.00 for non-Medicaid and all other patients.  Woodbridge Township residents are encouraged to call the Health Center’s Nursing Division at (732) 855-0600 ext. 5011 or 5012 for more information.  Individuals with a handicap condition should call (732) 855-0600 x5011 to schedule an individual appointment.

The Woodbridge Department of Health & Human Services recommends that adults over age 50, health care providers, caretakers for high risk patients, residents of nursing homes and other institutions housing long-term care patients, women who will be in the second or third trimester of pregnancy during flu season and individuals with chronic heart and lung problems, diabetes, and/or conditions that lower body resistance should receive annual flu shots.  Healthy adults 65 years of age and older and adults of any age with chronic heart and lung disease or serious chronic disease that may affect the lungs should receive a one-time dose pneumonia vaccine.
